Shakespeare for Everyone

Because KCSC lost its performance space at St. Francis College due to ongoing renovations, the Classical Brunch Reading Series was discontinued.

In 2001, KCSC launched the Classical Brunch Reading Series. Two to four times a year, free, fully staged readings under Actors' Equity Association Guidelines were offered along with a brunch donated by area merchants. KCSC asked only a $5 donation for the brunch. The series regularly attracted over 100 audience members per performance and featured some of the finest work done by KCSC regulars as well as many newcomers to the company.

Above left, Frank Smith prepares fruit for the brunch.  Below left, Sarah Dandridge and Ben Patch ready to go on in "The Madwoman of Chaillot."  At right, patrons enjoy the brunch.

This program was made possible, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts.

This program was also supported, in part, by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.  KCSC also received generous donations from the Nancy Quinn Fund, the Puffin Foundation, Ltd., The Jewish Community Foundation of Cleveland, and individual donors.

Our generous sponsors were:
